Ace Race Parts Schedule 5 Weld Els are the perfect solution for small and large turbo manifold applications and can withstand the punishment, vibration, and heat of a high horsepower street, drag, or track car. Our butt-weld pipe fittings, commonly referred to as Weld Fittings or Weld Els, are the fabricator's choice when fabricating turbo manifolds, dump tubes, and exhaust downpipes.

Available from 1-1/4" to 2-1/2" nominal pipe size in Schedule 5, Schedule 10, and Schedule 40 wall thickness options in 304L Stainless, 321 Stainless, and Mild Steel. Our Long Radius and Short Radius 90° Elbows, 45° Elbows, Reducers and Tees are all manufactured to ASTM A403 (ASME B16.9) standards and are subject to rigorous quality control testing and approval before shipment. Each weld fitting features a 37.5° bevel on each end to assist with butt-welding and to ensure proper fitment. 

With maximum service temperature ratings from 1598°F to 1652°F and wall thickness options ranging from 0.065" to 0.203" our line of weld els will help reduce the risk of cracking under even the most extreme conditions.

What is the benefit of using 321 stainless over 304 stainless in turbo manifold applications?

321 stainless is typically used with high service temperatures in the 800°F to 1600°F range. One major chemical difference between 321 and 304 stainless is the addition of titanium (Ti) in 321 stainless to help "stabilize" the alloy and to reduce the risk of corrosion in the heat-affected zone. When 304 stainless is heated above 1292°F for an extended period of time it may suffer from weld decay, which will initially display corrosion on the areas around the weld. Weld decay is reduced by the addition of titanium, making 321 stainless ideal for use in turbo exhaust manifolds and other exhaust products that see high levels of heat over prolonged periods of time. Although 304 stainless is more than suitable for most turbo manifold and other exhaust applications, 321 stainless is the superior choice for heat-related corrosion resistance.

What is Nominal Pipe Size (NPS)?

If you've worked with pipe much at all, you've probably noticed that the size of the pipe isn't really what size the pipe is. Unlike tubing, which is generally specified by its OD (outside diameter), or silicone hose, which is generally specified by its ID (inside diameter), pipe is specified by the industry designated size, or trade size. The first thing that all fabricators should know is that "Nominal Pipe Size", or NPS, is an industry designation, or "trade size", and it is does not reference the actual measured size of the material. Even the most experienced fabricators are sometimes confused by the industry's terminology and method of sizing.

Note: This pipe size material is only compatible with other pipe size material (pipe size weld els, tees, reducers, straight lengths, etc). Pipe size material is not compatible with stainless steel tube, tube fittings, or mandrel bends that are sized by the outside diameter.
