We're happy to announce that we now stock Tight Radius Aluminum Donuts! Our line of Aluminum Donuts is precision spun from 6061-T6 Aluminum and offers a polished finish – the same finish available on our Aluminum Mandrel Bends, Tubes, and Transition Reducers.
Our Tight Radius Donuts are available in two configurations:
- Unwelded, sold as a set of two halves
- Welded, fully welded along the outer circumference but unwelded on the inside.
Please note that both configurations will require welding.
WHAT ARE ALUMINUM DONUTS?
Our Aluminum Donuts, a playful name for a 360° bend, let fabricators create incredibly tight radius bends at almost any angle. Need a 180° bend? Easy! Just cut the donut in half. Need a 90° bend? No problem! You can get four 90° tight radius bends from a single donut.
Using the latest CNC metal spinning technology, our Aluminum Donuts achieve much tighter radius bends than traditional mandrel bending. Typically, the tightest centerline radius multiplier for mandrel bending is 1D, or one times the tube's diameter. But what if you need an even tighter bend due to space constraints? Thanks to the metal spinning process we use to make our donuts, we can achieve a centerline radius multiplier of just 0.75D, or 0.75 times the tube's outside diameter.
To help illustrate the difference, here’s a comparison between the tightest radius mandrel bend and our Aluminum Donuts:

In the example above, the overall bend height for SKU 11025 and 14213 is based on a 90° bend angle without any legs after the bend. To calculate the bend height, add the centerline radius dimension to half of the outside diameter.
As you can see from the comparison, the Aluminum Donut can create a much smaller 90° bend than the Aluminum Mandrel Bend with a 1.5D centerline radius, which is the most common centerline radius for Aluminum Mandrel Bends.

INSTRUCTIONS
- Measure and cut to the desired bend angle
- Weld the inside seam of the donut
Note, unwelded halves will require additional welding.
